Die New York-Hochsaison ist zwar bald wieder um, aber ich wollte trotzdem noch ein paar NYC-Insights mit euch teilen. Da Jesses Familie auf Long Island wohnt, war ich die letzten Jahre sehr oft in der Stadt, die niemals schläft und bis jetzt wurde es nie langweilig! Gerade in Ecken, die nicht so oft besucht werden, wie Long Island oder Queens, habe ich mich total verliebt. Doch ich weiß, dass viele Touristen nur ein paar Tage in Manhattan und eventuell in Brooklyn haben. Touristenführer gibt es zuhauf, einen Vegan-Food-Guide sowie einen Fair-Fashion-Guide habe ich bereits veröffentlicht. Heute kommt eine relativ oberflächliche Ergänzung: Mein Manhattan Instagram Guide!
The New York-peak season is soon over, but I still wanted to share a few NYC insights with you. Since Jesse’s family lives on Long Island, over the last years few years I was often in the city that never sleeps and until now there was never a dull moment! I especially fell in love with in areas that are not visited often such as Long Island or Queens. But I know that many tourists have only a few days in Manhattan and possibly in Brooklyn. Tour guides abound, I have already posted a vegan food guide and a fair fashion guide. Today I am adding a relatively superficial supplement to my NY guides: My Instagram Guide for Manhattan!
Top of The Rock
Eines der Instagram-würdigsten Orte: Die Aussicht vom Top of the Rock! Toller Ausblick aber auch eine super Location, um wunderschöne Fotos zu machen! Der Eintritt ist leider mit ca. 30 Dollar recht happig. Nehmt euch deshalb unbedingt viel Zeit mit, um den Blick zu genießen!

One of the most Instagram-worthy places: The view from Top of the Rock! Wonderful views but also a great location to take beautiful photos! Admission is unfortunately quite steep at about $30. Therefore once you are up there take a lot of time to enjoy the view!
The Standard Highline Rooftop Bar
Auch hier gibt es einen wunderschönen Ausblick und insbesondere zur golden Hour, wenn der Himmel pink leuchtet, heißt es aufgrund der Farbenpracht #nofilter für eure Instagram-Fotos! Rucksäcke und große Kameras werden euch aber am Eingang abgenommen. Meine Sony kam aber in meiner Handtasche mit und schoss diese unglaublich Pinke Skyline:
The Standard Highline Rooftop Bar
Again, this spot provides a beautiful view, especially for golden hour when the sky lights up pink, these beautiful colors means that it is #nofilter time for your Instagram photos! Backpacks and large cameras have to be left at the entrance. My Sony came but in my purse and I used it to shoot this amazing Pink Skyline:

Cupcake ATM
Einfach ein perfekter Foto-Spot: Cupcakes, New York Flair und coole Farben in einem. Was will man mehr? Ich muss aber dazu sagen, dass die Cupcakes im Laden selber, direkt neben dem ATM, frischer und leckerer waren, als aus dem Automaten. Außerdem gibt es im Laden mehr Auswahl. Cool ist die Erfahrung dennoch!

Simply a perfect photo spot: Cupcakes, New York flair and cool colors in one. What more do you want? However the cupcakes in the store itself, next to the ATM, were fresher and more delicious than those from the vending machine. Also, there are more choices in the store. By using the cupcake ATM is a cool experience!

Seitenstraßen von Soho
Wenn ihr die typischen New Yorker weißen Fabrik-Häuser als Hintergrund wollt, eignet sich ein Spaziergang durch Soho. Die Ecke Broome Street ist perfekt dafür, z.B. die Mercer Street in der ich das Bild hier geschossen habe:

If you want the typical New York white factory-houses as a background for your photos then take a walk through Soho. The area around Broome Street is perfect for that e.g. Mercer Street where I took this picture:
Street Art in Downtown
Ein Spaziergang durch Soho, East und West Village lohnt sich, nicht nur aufgrund der tollen Atmosphäre und Cafes, sondern auch aufgrund der tollen Street Art. Diese ändert sich natürlich auch hin und wieder, aber toll finde ich das Heart Mural in der 1st Street zwischen 1st und 2nd Avenue.
In der Sullivan Street seht ihr die “New York City Local” Wand (keine echte Street Art, aber finde ich schon ziemlich cool). Und bei Rag & Bone in der Elizabeth Street findet ihr jedes Jahr auch neue, coole Street Art. Die Herzchen an der schwarzen Wand findet ihr Mott St. Ecke Prince Street.
Street Art in Downtown
A walk through Soho, East and West Village is worthwhile not only because of the great atmosphere and cafes, but also because of the great street art. The art of course changes every so often, but I really love the Heart Mural on 1st Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues.
In Sullivan Street you can find the “New York City Local” wall (not real street art, but I find it pretty cool). And at Rag & Bone in Elizabeth Street there is a new, cool piece of street art every year. The hearts on the black wall can be found on Mott St. at the corner of Prince Street.

Brooklyn Bridge Park
Ok, die Location ist jetzt nicht Manhattan, aber mit Blick auf Manhattan. Das zählt auch noch 🙂 Fragt ihr euch vielleicht, wo TuulaVintage & Co. ihre wunderschönen Skyline-Bilder auf Instagram geschossen haben? Höchstwahrscheinlich machen die Top-Blogger bei jedem Manhattan-Besuch auch einen Abstecher zum Brooklyn Bridge Park. Denn von dort erhaltet ihr eine perfekte Sicht auf die Skyline von Manhattan, wenn gewünscht mit der Brooklyn Bridge im Hintergrund. Diese ist nämlich nicht weit und eigentlich auch eine perfekte Foto-Location, doch leider meistens zu überfüllt, um einen leeren Hintergrund zu haben. Hier der Beweis:
Brooklyn Bridge Park
Ok, the location is not in Manhattan, but overlooking Manhattan. It also counts 🙂 Do you ever wonder where TuulaVintage & Co. shoot their gorgeous skyline pictures on Instagram? The top bloggers most likely make a detour to Brooklyn Bridge Park during ever Manhattan visit. Because from there you get a perfect view of the Manhattan skyline, with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background if you want. The Bridge is in fact not far and actually also a perfect photo location, but unfortunately often too crowded to have an empty background. Here’s the proof:
Umpire Rock
Klar, der Central Park ist sowieso ein toller Ort zum Fotografieren. Aber manche Ecken noch mehr als andere. Wie zum Beispiel das Central Park Carousel. Ich persönlich liebe aber die großen Steine am Umpire Rock, da man dort perfekte Park/Skyline-Bilder schießen kann.

Of course, Central Park is itself a great place to take pictures. But some corners more so than others. Such as the Central Park Carousel. I, personally, love the big stones at Umpire rock, because from there you can shoot the perfect Park / Skyline photo.
Mandarin Oriental Lobby Lounge
Ich glaube ich würde es nicht nochmal machen, weil die Bar dann doch etwas zu fancy für mich war, aber von der Mandarin Oriental Lobby Lounge gab es diesen unglaublichen Ausblick! Wir haben unter anderem Catrin Roitfeld gespottet und unsere Limo für 14 Dollar each war krass teuer, aber sie haben uns reingelassen und das Foto war es wert haha 🙂

I don’t think I would go there again because the bar a bit too fancy for me, but from the Mandarin Oriental Lobby Lounge there was this incredible view! We spotted among other people Catrin Roitfeld and our drinks were each $14, super expensive, but they let in us and the picture was worth it haha 🙂
Matcha Art
Was wäre ein Instagram-Stream ohne ein tolles Matcha-Art-Bild? Perfekt fotogen war der Kaffee im Chalait NYC Café, wobei aber mein hausgemachter Matcha immer noch der Beste ist, haha.

Diese Stadt ist einfach berauschend und lässt einen immer wieder aufs Neue mit staunenden Augen da stehen. Tolle Bilder, die meine Sehnsucht nach einem erneuten New-York-Trip schier ins Unendliche treibt 😉 New York, sehr bald werde ich dich (hoffentlich) wieder besuchen kommen!
