It’s been forever since I had more than a week off from work and stayed & relaxed in Berlin! Home is where it is most beautiful in their own homes. I finally had some free time to pursue my favorite activity besides blogging and cooking: DIY projects! A few months ago I discovered Macrame and tried it out for the first time. I was addicted and wanted to learn more knots and patterns. And that’s exactly what I did! With some help from Pinterest &  Co. I was already able to put together some pretty good pieces. I definitely still have to practice a little though. You may not see it in the photos, but here and there are a few knots done incorrectly.<\/em><\/p>\n

Before I write my own tutorials (as I said, I need some more practice), I wanted to give you a few tips: for other beginners, I would recommend to poke around a bit through Pinterest<\/a>, and to start by practicing and memorizing the most important knots and (without doing a pattern, otherwise will be the first project will be frustrating). Here<\/a> is code a very good overview (most important are the Square Knot, Spiral Stitch and the Half Hitch). For the first try at Wall Art I recommend this tutorial <\/a>and the first plant hanger I would follow these directions<\/a>. After that you should have a good handle of the basics of Macrame and be ready for more complicated patterns!

Seit Ewigkeiten hatte ich mal mehr als eine Woche am St\u00fcck frei und bin dabei nicht weggefahren, sondern blieb entspannt in Berlin! Nachdem ich vor Monaten das erste Mal Macrame entdeckt und ausprobiert habe, wollte ich unbedingt noch mehr Knoten und Muster lernen. Gesagt getan und mithilfe von Pinterest & Co. entstanden schon einmal ein paar erste ganz gute Teile. Ich muss zwar noch etwas \u00fcben, ihr seht es auf den Fotos wahrscheinlich nicht genau, aber hier und da sind ein paar Knoten falsch.<\/p>\n

Bevor ich eigene Tutorials schreibe (wie gesagt, etwas \u00dcbung fehlt mir noch), gebe ich euch ein paar Tipps mit: Wer auch Einsteiger ist, dem kann ich empfehlen erst einmal durch Pinterest<\/a> zu st\u00f6bern, sowie zun\u00e4chst die wichtigsten Knoten zu \u00fcben und zu verinnerlichen (ohne ein Muster kn\u00fcpfen zu wollen, sonst wird das erste Projekt zur Frustration). Hier<\/a> ist eine ganz gute \u00dcbersicht (wichtig sind der Square Knot, Spiral Stitch und der Half Hitch). PS: Ja, meine Kr\u00e4uter sehen traurig aus, aber wir haben sie umgepflanzt und immer nur ein Pfl\u00e4nzchen\/ eine Wurzel in einen Topf getan, weil sie so besser wachsen sollen. Habe keinen gr\u00fcnen Daumen, deshalb dr\u00fcckt mir die Daumen \ud83d\ude1b<\/p>\n
