As I got so much positive feedback on my Spa at Home (Without a Bathtub)-Blogpost I thought it’s time to post a part II. This time I am presenting you 5 Spa ideas and tips to relax that you can just appreciate at home, perfectly catered to the heat we are all experiencing this summer! I specifically wanted to create a summer spa list as other How To blogposts about this topic usually focus on the autumn and winter months! Today I am showing you, how you can relax, refresh and refocus, even without a bathtub!
This blogpost is sponsored by Weleda as I am also showing you the new Feel Good Shower lotion by Weleda with ginger and sesame oil! It is a limited edition so be quick if you want to try it as well! Here are my tips:
Of course first things first you have to set the right atmosphere. I usually prefer a clean apartment. I can’t really relax when it’s all messy and chaotic around me. After cleaning everything up I love lighting an incense stick that reminds me of our spa experiences in Bali, Indonesia! Otherwise choose a candle you love! I dim the light and put my phone on flight mode – it’s super important to also digital detox! If you need internet for music or anything similar then play it with your laptop or put your phone on “do not disturb”.
2. Infused Water
In winter I would usually make myself a yummy hot tea or chai latte. But this year has been the hottest since I can remember and drinking lots of water has been a struggle for me lately! I usually am better with infused water: I just take filtered tap water and add some ginger, lime and a few berries. Ginger is such an amazing superfood that helps to detox, its antibacterial and it helps with your digestion!
Just let it sit for a while. Sometimes I also add hot water to the ginger first to get a stronger taste. After it cools down I add the other ingredients!
3. Face mask
No spa feeling without a face mask. I have so many products at home lately but in the end I always prefer the most simple ones: clay masks! I sometimes add other ingredients such as apple cider vinegar, sesame oil or tea tree oil. But also a mix of ginger, clay, green tea and camomile tea is a perfect mask to clear your skin and make your skin glow! There are so many options for DIY face masks out there!!!
4. Feel Good Shower Limited Edition by Weleda
Speaking about ginger: I am collaborating in this blogpost with my long term partner Weleda as they recently brought out their new shower lotion Feel Good Shower with ginger and sesame oil! The cream smells super fresh and the packaging is stunning! Organic sesame oil is super rich in unsaturated fatty acids and Vitamin E, nourishes the skin and makes it super soft! The cream is NATRUE certified, vegan and supports organic and socially responsible farms in Mexico.
5. DIY In-Shower Body Mousse
If you need some extra nourishment for your skin, or have some super dry spots, I can totally recommend my DIY body butter mousse! It’s super intense, so I would suggest using it under the shower: Wash yourself normally and then apply some of the DIY butter on your wet skin. After that wash your skin off with water only and then step out of the shower. You will have super nourished skin without the excess oil residue!
You can find the basic recipe here, but now during summer I am using a slight variation with Lemongrass or Citronella. Gonna post that version soon as well!
Let me know how you relax at home! And if you are from Germany, Austria or Switzerland, don’t forget to participate in my Giveaway with Weleda (infos are in the German version of this blogpost!)
